Dark ruby wine with a shiny red and white rim. Very fat but long legs on the glass. Max concentration in the color and palate . A lot of dark roses and purple flowers like violets in the air wth ripe cherries and dry damsons.. Leather gloves and pencil shape on the finish of the nose. Big, huge bloody juice with a longerberrys, plums and cherries flavour. Very strong ambitious construction. The finish has a touch of raspberries and ripe wild strawberrys with a hint of liquorice. 85% Merlot, 14% Cab Franc and 1% Cab Sauvignon. Real Giant for this vintage and one of my favourite. Alc.14,5

"Vieux Château Certan is one of the oldest known growths in Pomerol. It was founded at the beginning of the 16th century when the Demay family arrived from Scotland to settle there. It appeared on Belleyme’s 1785 map under the name of “Sertan”. In Pomerol, the Certan place-name was taken from the estate. In 1858, Charles de Bousquet became the owner of Vieux Château Certan. The château buildings that we see today were built by him. In 1924, Georges Thienpont, a Flemish wine merchant, purchased the property. This marked the beginning of the family’s presence in the Bordeaux region.

the 18 en Primeur-Tasting is a very fine, elegant wine with freshness in the middle and long remaining into Your mouth. The Merlot is blended with Cabernet franc; this is a gift for this wine,because it makes the wine fresh and rich in red fruit-character ; the tannins are soft and well balanced, One of the best Pomerol in 18 until now.
